Event Description:
Dennis Bigelow, who acts as the costumed James Monroe interpreter at Highland, Monroe’s historic home in Virginia, will give a public presentation, followed by a question and answer period. He will portray President Monroe as he was during his first visit to the North Country 200 years ago, and will respond to all questions in character. James Monroe, served as fifth President of the United States from 1817-1825. 

President Monroe’s visit will be his second to Ogdensburg. When Monroe first visited in 1817, George Parish hosted a presidential luncheon at the Parish Mansion, which now houses the Frederic Remington Art Museum.
