Name: Saturday Afternoons with Frederic Remington III
Date: March 25, 2017
Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
The public is invited to spend the afternoon enjoying the work of Frederic Remington and hearing about his fascinating life. Docents will be on hand to talk with visitors.

Frederic Remington, famous for his depiction of the West: cowboys, the military and Indians, was born in Canton in 1861 and spent part of his youth in Ogdensburg. He never forgot his roots and returned to the North Country regularly. The museum features a large collection of northern landscapes that reflect his love of our region.
Besides Remington's art, the museum houses various personal and studio effects, such as his easel, paints, photographs and even his wife Eva’s diamond ring and the cigars that were in his pocket when he died.

The Frederic Remington Art Museum is fascinating indeed, especially in the company of knowledgeable docents on a Saturday afternoon. Refreshments will be served.
